The USA comments on Russia's strike on Odesa during Zelensky's visit

The USA commented on Russia's strike on Odesa during the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. Representatives of the department noted that this is another proof that Ukraine needs to strengthen air defense. This was reported at a briefing by the US State Department.

Commenting on the Russian strike on Odesa on March 6 during the visit of Zelensky and Mitsotakis to the city, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that it was another reminder of how Russia continues to strike Ukraine every day.

"It's a reminder of Ukraine's need for air defense systems, and it's a reminder that the United States Congress must take action, as we have called on them to do, to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression," he said.

At the same time, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre noted that she could not answer whether President Zelensky was the target of the attack on Odesa.

"We know what Russia is doing. We've seen what's been happening on the battlefield over the last few weeks because of the inaction of Congress," she said.

Jean-Pierre noted that the United States is aware of the crisis situation in Ukraine. According to her, last week the CIA Director reported on the terrible consequences of Russian aggression for our country.

Earlier we reported that Russia attempted to launch a missile attack on Zelensky's motorcade.
