Stefanishyna confirmed the information of the Financial Times: Ukraine understands US appeals, but we fight with what we have

Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna confirmed the Financial Times' information that the US has called on Ukraine to stop strikes on Russian oil refineries. She said that Ukraine understands the call of its American partners, but fights with the capabilities and resources it has.

"We understand the appeals of our American partners. At the same time, we are fighting with the capabilities, resources, and practices we have today. There are also statements by other officials that these are absolutely legitimate targets from a military point of view," Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna said at the Kyiv Security Forum.

She stated that Ukraine has responded to such calls by "achieving its goals" and "very successful operations" in Russia.

Stefanishyna also said that in the first month of the Russian invasion, she spoke with NATO headquarters, and they said that the Alliance's standards require that the first thing to do is to destroy the infrastructure on Russian territory that makes it possible to bomb Ukrainian cities.

"We act in accordance with the best NATO standards," the deputy prime minister said.
