IAEA updates data on consequences of drone strikes on ZNPP

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has updated data on the consequences of a drone attack on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia NPP controlled by the Russian occupiers. In particular, surveillance and communication equipment and a military vehicle were damaged. This is reported on the IAEA website.

According to a report published on the IAEA website, the organization has updated its report on the consequences of the incident that occurred at ZNPP due to the detonation of a drone. There is currently no confirmation of damage to critical nuclear safety systems or security at the plant site.

However, the agency emphasizes that military attacks remind of the constant threats to ZNPP and other nuclear facilities during the armed conflict. Although the risk of a serious accident is decreasing due to the IAEA's efforts, the threat remains relevant.

According to the agency, the IAEA experts confirmed the damage to the surveillance and communication equipment and found drone wreckage at three crash sites. In addition, damage to a military vehicle and minor damage to the upper part of the roof of the reactor dome of one of the plant's units were found.

The IAEA also reported observations of explosions and shooting at the site of the incident, as well as artillery shots near the plant. The agency's team continues to monitor the situation and assess potential risks to nuclear safety.

Earlier, we reported that an explosion occurred on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant seized by the occupiers - a drone detonated. IAEA representatives witnessed the incident.
