On April 9, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv placed under arrest an employee of the State Protection Department suspected of killing a teenager at a Kyiv funicular station. This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office.
"At the request of the prosecutor, a preventive measure of detention was imposed on a serviceman suspected of intentionally killing a teenager at a funicular station in Kyiv," the statement said.
According to a Suspilne correspondent, the court imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention without bail until June 5.
The court hearing was held in a closed session. This was requested by the suspect's lawyer due to "negative in the mass media" and threats against the man and his relatives.
