Negotiations on EU accession: Progress of Ukraine and Moldova will be assessed separately, - EU Ambassador

EU Ambassador to Moldova, Janis Mazeiks, said that the progress of Ukraine and Moldova in the EU accession negotiations will be assessed separately, even if the countries received candidate status at the same time. This was reported by EVZ.

According to Mazeiks, the negotiations will be conducted as individual processes with a thorough analysis of the progress of Moldova and Ukraine. This means that the assessment of each country will be based on its own achievements and fulfillment of conditions. For example, a country's success in various areas will be considered in the context of its specific progress.

At the same time, the ambassador noted that Moldova has already fulfilled a significant part of the important conditions recommended by Brussels. However, he noted problems, particularly in the justice sector. For example, the Prosecutor General has not yet been appointed, and the composition of the Supreme Court of Justice remains incomplete.
