AFU deny information about Russian army's breakthrough to Siverskyi Donets Canal

The information that the Russian army broke through to the Siverskyi Donets canal is not true. Nazar Voloshyn, spokesman for the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops, said this.

“Everything that some analysts and experts are now commenting on, that the enemy broke through to the canal, is not true. The enemy was not there in the morning. They may have conducted assaults there, but they were not there,” said the spokesman.

Voloshyn claims that the Russians have no success in this area and the Ukrainian Armed Forces are in control of the situation. At the same time, he says the Russians' goal is to reach the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas border.

He said that the second line of defense has been fortified near Chasiv Yar. According to Voloshyn, the fight for control of logistics routes is ongoing.

It is worth noting that yesterday Bild military analyst Julian Röpke reported that Russians managed to cross the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal and advance toward the city.

Röpke believes that “it is now only a matter of time” before the Russians enter the city in these areas.

Russian military publics also write that the Russian army was able to advance to the south of the city, in the area where the canal runs underground and therefore is not a natural obstacle.

On the Deep State map, the area of the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal is marked as a gray zone.

For his part, the head of the Chasiv Yar city administration, Serhiy Chaus, said that the hostilities had reached the city limits.

Less than 700 people remain in the settlement and the district. Most of them are elderly people.

“There are 682 people left in Chasiv Yar and the entire Chasiv Yar community... These are ordinary people, residents of the community who stayed despite the hostilities that are actually taking place on the border of our city,” Chaus said.

He said that evacuation from the city has been going on since the beginning of the war, but no one has left in the last week.
