Ukroboronprom launches production of 60 mm NATO-caliber mines, - CEO Smetanin

The state-owned company Ukroboronprom is launching the production of NATO-caliber 60 mm mines. This was announced by the holding's CEO Herman Smetanin during the Ukraine-EU forum.

He emphasized that the company's enterprises are actively working to increase the production of weapons and military equipment both in Ukraine and abroad. Thanks to additional funds, the company managed to significantly increase the production of ammunition.

In particular, the company has achieved mass production of artillery shells and mortar shells of Soviet caliber, and is now moving to the production of NATO-caliber 60 mm ammunition.

Earlier, the private company Ukrainian armored vehicles reported that it was the only producer of 60 mm mortar rounds in Ukraine.

Smetanin noted that despite the increase in production, the company's own capacities are not enough to wage war on equal terms with Russia.

“We know the approximate volume of ammunition production at Russian enterprises and their partners' enterprises. We understand that our own capacities, even with a large increase in production, are not enough to wage war on equal terms. Therefore, the task of Ukroboronprom and Ukraine's allies is to provide our Defense Forces with sufficient ammunition,” added the general director.
