Rada supports extension of martial law and mobilization in Ukraine

The Verkhovna Rada has voted to extend martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine. This legal regime will be in effect for another 90 days, namely until August 11, 2024.


Thus, today the parliamentarians adopted draft law No. 11234 on the extension of martial law and No. 11235 on the extension of the general mobilization period. They were submitted to the Rada the day before by President Volodymyr Zelensky.


This is the eleventh extension since the beginning of the full-scale war.


The decision to extend martial law in the country was supported by 339 MPs. The extension of mobilization was voted for by 336 MPs.


It should be noted that, according to the procedure, the documents must be signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
