Oleh Synegubov, head of the Kharkiv RMA, confirmed the intensification of shelling of Vovchansk and attempted breakthrough of Russian subversive reconnaissance groups.
“Occupants intensified shelling in the northern direction. First of all, the enemy strikes at the city of Vovchansk. Attacks from multiple rocket launchers, MLRS and artillery continued throughout the night. There were unsuccessful attempts by the subversive group to break through the border,” the statement said.
At the same time, Synegubov claims that Russia does not have the forces to attack Kharkiv.
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine are confidently holding their positions: not a single meter has been lost. The enemy group does not pose a threat to Kharkiv, its forces are only enough for provocations in the northern direction,” said the head of the RMA.
At the same time, the soldier from "Aidar" who first reported the escalation in the border area of Kharkiv region asks local residents to evacuate.
“An adequate request to the residents of the border settlements of Sumy and Kharkiv regions to move to a safe distance from the border, no one has canceled the artillery shelling,” the statement said.
