Zelensky confirms Russian offensive in Kharkiv region: There is a fierce battle going on there now

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the Russian army's offensive in the north of Kharkiv region. He said this at a press conference with Slovak President Zuzana Chaputova.

He said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had been waiting for this event and are holding back the Russians. But he noted that it is not yet known what reserves Russia is ready to throw into the battle.

“They can increase and pull up more forces in this area [...] There is a fierce battle in this area now,” the president said.

As a reminder, Russian attacks in this area were confirmed by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

In addition, Reuters, citing a senior military source from Ukraine, writes that the Russians seek to push the Ukrainian Armed Forces back 10 km from the border and create a buffer zone in the Kharkiv region.

The publication claims that Russian troops have managed to advance one kilometer in the area of Vovchansk, Kharkiv region.
