The Prime Minister of Georgia called the condition for Saakashvili's return to Ukraine

The Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garbavshili called the condition for Saakashvili's return to Ukraine a full sentence in Georgia. At the same time, Irakli Garbavshili expressed confidence that the situation with Mikheil Saakashvili - his detention and further imprisonment - will not cause the deterioration of Ukrainian-Georgian relations.

"If he wants to return to Ukraine, he can do so six years after the execution of the sentence of the Georgian court," Garibashvili said on Imedi TV channel on Sunday evening, October 3.

At the same time, the Prime Minister of Georgia noted that Saakashvili demands his return to Ukraine. After all, he is a citizen of Ukraine.

“Today we have very good, fraternal relations with Ukraine. Saakashvili will not be the cause of the deterioration of our interstate relations even in prison, "Garibashvili said.

Thus preventing provocations by the opposition. According to Georgian security officials, a 10,000-strong protest against election fraud was planned for October 3, and the ex-president was to "suddenly appear in the crowd."

"After the police had to detain him, one version called for the elimination of several opposition leaders in order to hold the current government accountable, with all the consequences," Garibashvili said.

On the eve of the Georgian election, former President Mikheil Saakashvili returned to the country for the first time in eight years. In Georgia, he was convicted in absentia in four criminal cases. In the evening of October 1, Mikheil Saakashvili was detained and placed in a pre-trial detention center. Politics faces six years in prison.

In 2015, Saakashvili received Ukrainian citizenship and is currently the head of Ukraine's Executive Reform Committee. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine will be home for him.
