Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili was returned to Rustavi prison without warning to his lawyers in the middle of the night. He had been previously held at a military hospital in Gori.
A car with security guards from the Ministry of Justice arrived at the hospital in the middle of the night and transported him to the prison.
We should remind you that three days ago there was the first attempt to transport Saakashvili to jail, but he resisted and kind of lost consciousness because of high blood pressure. This time it was carried out in the middle of the night.
The ex-president's lawyers called the incident a kidnapping, and his supporters gathered for a rally under the prison walls by morning.
