EU to impose "unprecedented" sanctions against Russia in case of its invasion of Ukraine - Danish Foreign Ministry

Danish Foreign Minister Yeppe Kofoed has threatened Russia with "unprecedented" economic sanctions from the EU. This will happen in the case of a new Russian invasion of Ukraine.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing Reuters.

"There is no doubt that we are ready to respond with comprehensive, unprecedented sanctions if Russia invades Ukraine again," Kofod said.

According to him, we are talking about comprehensive political and economic sanctions. He noted that the measures would be much stricter than those imposed against Russia in 2014.

"Russia should know, President Vladimir Putin should know, that the price of using provocations and military force to change borders in Europe will be very, very high," Kofod added.

As a reminder, recently the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen stated that the EU is ready to impose sanctions against Russia.

At the same time, the United States of America said that it would not impose preventive sanctions against Russia due to the build-up of Russian troops near Ukraine's borders.

At the same time, the British government has started working on new sanctions, which should weaken the Russian economy if the Kremlin launches an invasion of Ukraine.
