Zelensky launched his debut digital poll

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky launched the debut of digital polling as part of the digital people's power.

"The state in a smartphone for everyone, the ability to influence processes in the state for everyone, and not only through classical tools, but also by applying modern technology - this is the people's government in its widest form: offline and online. And today we are making the first step towards this," - he said at the presentation of new digital services Diia Summit on Tuesday in Kiev, the official website of the President.

In particular, the president said, Diia is launching a questionnaire as the first e-democracy tool to find out people's opinions on an issue in real time.

"And for all of us, this is actually the start of digital democracy," he stressed.

Zelensky announced that the first question: "Which of the new services in "Diia" is the most useful: change of registration, certificate of criminal record, a proper user or a survey.

Another question on Diia will be the choice of a name for a new service to provide free smartphones for people over 60.

Among the options voiced by the president are: "BabushkaPhone," "eDad and eBabushka," and "eSmartphone."

Zelensky noted that the questionnaires are already available in "Diia", and also announced the next polls.

"Right now there is no talk about holding a referendum in "Diia". Because this is a separate law and a separate legal "dimension." But the government will be able to conduct polls, individual government agencies and ministries will be able to conduct polls," commented on the launch of polls Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov at a briefing to reporters.
