Pressure to stop Russian barbarism: the EU is working on the 5th package of sanctions against Russia

The European Union is discussing a fifth package of sanctions against Russia for its war against Ukraine. Details were discussed with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrel by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, the latter reported on Twitter.

"Talked with Josep Borrel. We discussed the preparation of the 5th package of EU sanctions against Russia. The pressure will grow as long as it is necessary to stop Russian barbarism," said the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

Kuleba also pointed out that the sides also discussed protection and assistance to Ukrainians who fled from Russian bombs to the EU.

The West has consistently imposed sanctions against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.

The EU recently imposed the 4th package of sanctions against Russia, including restrictions against its energy sector. However, there was no question of banning oil imports. On March 8, the U.S. took such a step. At the same time, the EU developed a plan to refuse Russian energy resources.
