At least 627 children have suffered as a result of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Office of the Prosecutor General said.
"More than 627 children have suffered in Ukraine as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to official data, as of the morning of May 4, 2022, the number of child victims per day has not changed - 220. The number of wounded has increased - more than 407", - noted in the prosecutor's office.
It is noted that the most affected children were in the Donetsk region - 139, Kyiv region - 115, Kharkiv region - 95, Chernihiv region - 68, Kherson region - 46, Mykolayiv region - 43, Luhansk region - 37, Zaporizhzhya region - 27, Sumy region - 17, in Kyiv - 16, Zhytomyr region - 15.
These figures are not final, since work is under way to establish them in places of active combat operations, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
Thus, on May 2, as a result of artillery shelling by the occupants of the village of Vysokopolye in the Berislavsk district of the Kherson region and two shells hitting a residential house, a 6-year-old girl was seriously wounded.
Because of the daily bombardment and shelling by the armed forces of the Russian Federation, as indicated, 1,584 educational institutions were damaged. At the same time, 118 of them were completely destroyed.
