The situation with fuel is difficult, but the shortage did not stop the sowing season - Ministry of Agrarian Policy

The situation with fuel is difficult, but not threatening. Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky noted that the shortage did not stop the sowing season. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

According to him, in general, the abolition of excise duty and reduction of VAT on fuel made fuel more affordable than it could have been.

"Today, farmers mostly buy medium or large wholesale, that is, we are not talking about retail sales. We have our finger on the pulse. We do not have a single stoppage of sowing season because of lack of diesel fuel, although the situation is really difficult, "- he said.

Recall that due to a shortage of fuel in Ukraine, gas station networks have imposed additional restrictions.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the shortage has led, among other things, strikes at the Kremenchuk oil refinery, which is the main producer of fuel in the country, as well as large oil depots.

The Ministry says that within a week the deficit will be eliminated, since the operators have contracted volumes in Western Europe, and the issue of their delivery to the territory of Ukraine is being resolved.

At the same time, this situation will lead to higher prices of petroleum products due to new logistics, complex routes and the use of several modes of transport.
