United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin will chair a meeting of the contact group on Ukraine's defense. The meeting will be held at NATO headquarters in Brussels on June 15.
This is reported by the Pentagon press service.
"Secretary Austin has once again invited defense ministers and chiefs of staff of the armed forces from around the world to discuss the ongoing crisis in Ukraine," the statement said.
The agency said that the contact group meeting will begin with opening remarks by the US Secretary of Defense, and after the meeting he will give a press conference together with the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley.
As a reminder, the second meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine, tacitly called "Ramstein," was held on 23 May. The meeting was attended by defense ministers from more than 40 countries, including Pentagon Chief of Staff Lloyd Austin.
We would like to point out that the first meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine was held at the end of April and was attended by representatives of more than 40 countries. The meeting was held at the US military base "Ramstein" in Germany. Later, the Pentagon said that such summits would become monthly.
