Minsk has decided to withdraw its ambassador to the United Kingdom due to the "unfriendly steps" of London and reduce the level of diplomatic representation in the country.

This was stated by spokesman for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Anatoli Glaz, reports the Belarusian news agency BELTA.

"The imposition of sanctions against employees of enterprises, the Belarusian economy and the financial system, restrictions on the Belarusian media, groundless ban on Belavia flights, with no visas for Belarusian MPs to the session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and other illegal restrictive measures at this stage do not allow to engage in a meaningful dialogue," said Glaz.

At the same time, he said, reducing the level of diplomatic relations with the Charge d'Affaires "does not mean that we are closing the channels of communication with London.
