Zelensky will go to the G20 summit if Putin is there - Podolyak

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may attend the autumn G20 summit in Indonesia if Russian President Vladimir Putin is present.

This was stated by Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President, in an interview with the BBC.

According to him, Zelensky believes that he must be on the territory of Ukraine and online formats allow for effective work at any summits.

At the same time, the adviser to the head of the OP noted that if Putin comes to the summit, the Ukrainian delegation will have to think about the need for his presence.

"Because the presence of Putin in any place, at any summit indirectly means that the organizers of the summit legitimize the position of Russia, which attacked a sovereign state. It's like you're letting everyone else know in this way: look, we think Russia had the right to come and kill Ukrainian children. We should treat it that way," Podolyak noted.

As reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted the invitation of Indonesia to participate in the G20 summit, which will be held in Bali on November 15-16. Invitation to participate in this summit has also been accepted earlier by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
