Putin's announcement of fake referendums, mobilization and nuclear blackmail is a serious escalation - Borrell

The High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell, considers Russian President Vladimir Putin's announcement of partial mobilization, support for sham referendums and nuclear blackmail as a serious escalation. Borrell wrote about this on Twitter.

"Putin's announcement of fake referendums, partial military mobilization and nuclear blackmail is a serious escalation. The threats of nuclear weapons are unacceptable and pose a real danger to everyone," he wrote.

Borrell noted that the international community should unite to prevent such actions.

He added that peace all over the world is under threat.
