The State Duma of Russia supported the illegal annexation of the occupied territories of Kherson, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk and Luhansk regions. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

 The State Duma voted for the so-called "joining the Russian Federation" of the captured Ukrainian territories at an extraordinary meeting today, October 3.

 The State Duma also unanimously adopted a total of four draft constitutional laws on "adoption of the so-called DPR and LPR, as well as the Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions into Russia."

 According to the "laws", residents of the new entities are now recognized as Russian citizens. They are given a month to submit applications for renunciation of Russian citizenship. It is also reported that acquisition of citizenship is possible subject to submission of an application and taking the oath of a citizen of the Russian Federation.

 Now the Federation Council of the Russian Federation must support the illegal annexation. Earlier, the speaker of the upper chamber, Valentina Matvienko, said that the Radfed will consider the issue of "accession" on October 4.
