German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the Russian Federation will not be able to win the war with "scorched earth" tactics and expressed confidence that terror will not stop Ukraine. He said this during a speech in the Bundestag on October 20, writes Deutsche Welle.
According to Scholtz, terror tactics will not help Russia win the war against Ukraine. He noted that it "only strengthens the determination and tenacity" of Ukraine and its allies.
"Russian bomb and missile terror is, finally, an act of desperation, just like the mobilization of Russian men for war," Scholz said.
He emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin "openly and completely irresponsibly" threatens the world with the use of nuclear weapons.
"Putin wants to sow fear and divide the unity of the West, but he is wrong to consider it weak. Europe and international alliances are stronger than ever, and Putin will not be able to achieve his military goals. Ukraine will continue to defend itself successfully. And we will support it - until it will be necessary," the chancellor summed up.
