The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, made a speech on Wednesday, in which she estimated the losses of Ukraine in the war against Russia at 100,000 soldiers.
This is stated in the video message of the European official.
Von der Leyen dedicated the appeal to the plan to confiscate frozen Russian assets and create a special tribunal to punish Russia for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
"Russia's invasion of Ukraine brought death, devastation and untold suffering. We all remember the horrors of Buchi. According to estimates, more than 20,000 civilians and 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers have died today," said the President of the European Commission.
She said that Russia must pay for its terrible crimes, including the crime of aggression against a sovereign state.
Previously, on one of the Ukrainian radio stations, the Secretary of the National Security Council, Oleksiy Danilov, did not confirm the words of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, Mark Milli, about the 100,000 killed and wounded Ukrainian soldiers in the war with the Russian Federation.
