The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, is concerned about the deterioration of Mykhailo Saakashvili's health. She believes that the ex-president of Georgia should be transferred to the "appropriate clinic" for treatment.
"I am deeply concerned about the rapid deterioration of the health of the former president of Georgia, Mykhailo Saakashvili. Every human life is priceless, and the seriousness of the situation requires the immediate transfer of Saakashvili to an appropriate clinic to save his life," Sandu wrote on Twitter.
Mykhailo Saakashvili has been in the Vivamedi clinic in Tbilisi for several months, where he was transferred from prison after two hunger strikes. The family and lawyers claim that his condition is deteriorating, the authorities in response say that there is no cause for alarm and that Saakashvili is receiving all the necessary treatment.
The Minister of Justice of Georgia, Rati Bregadze, stated that sending Saakashvili for treatment abroad is legally impossible. At the same time, the head of the Ministry of Justice said that foreign specialists can be involved in the treatment of the politician.
