Hungary will veto any European Union sanctions against Russia over nuclear energy.
This was announced by Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Ukraine called on the EU to include the Russian state nuclear power company Rosatom in the tenth sanctions package.
Orbán reiterated on Friday that sanctions on nuclear energy "obviously have to be vetoed".
"We will not allow the implementation of the plan to include nuclear energy in the sanctions. This is out of the question," said the Hungarian Prime Minister.
As you know, Hungary continues with Rosatom the construction of new power units of its Paksh NPP.
