On the anniversary of the Russian invasion, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that the future of unity awaits the EU and Ukraine.

"A year of brutal Russian aggression. A year of heroic Ukrainian resistance. A year of European solidarity. A future of unity awaits us," von der Leyen said.
"You are fighting for freedom, for democracy and for your place in the European Union. We will be with you as long as it takes," she added.
It will be recalled that on Thursday the European Union was unable to sign the long-awaited 10th package of sanctions against Russia due to Poland's objection to the proposed restrictions on the import of synthetic rubber, which, in its opinion, are not strict enough.
