The State Security Committee of Belarus announced the death during the detention of a foreigner who was allegedly planning a terrorist attack.

Initially, Belarusian Telegram channels began to spread information about shootings and explosions in Grodno in the area of Kurchatov and Vrublevsky streets, after which special forces allegedly took someone with them. They also wrote about "about 10 police officers and necklaces", the events unfolded around 2:00 p.m. local time.
Subsequently, a statement from the KGB of Belarus appeared, where the agency claims that they detained a foreigner who was allegedly preparing a terrorist attack on the territory of Belarus.
"During special measures to stop the activities of persons who entered the territory of the Republic of Belarus with the aim of committing a terrorist attack, on March 19, 2023, in Grodno, on Kurchatov Street, a foreign citizen, L. to the fighters of the special unit of the KGB, group "A", - the department said.
It will be recalled that earlier in March, Belarusian dictator Oleksandr Lukashenko signed a law introducing the death penalty for officials and soldiers for treason.
In the spring of 2022, Lukashenko signed changes to the legislation that made possible the death penalty for "attempted terrorism."
