The Lithuanian Navy will conduct large-scale exercises "Storm Strike - 2023"

From June 5 to 11, the Lithuanian Naval Forces will conduct the largest exercise in 2023, "Storm Strike - 2023".

 

 This was reported by the press service of the Armed Forces of Lithuania.

 

 The training will take place in the Baltic Sea, in the area of the Klaipeda port, on the Kursk spit, on Nemirset beach. They will also be partially connected with the largest international NATO exercise in the Baltic Sea, Baltops 23.

 

 It is noted that on June 11, an amphibious operation of Italian, Polish and Romanian marines will take place on the beach of Nemirset. They will disembark from the amphibious ship of the Italian Navy "San Marco" and the amphibious ship of the Polish Navy "Toruń".

 

 Military personnel of the Lithuanian army and allies from Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania with ships, aircraft and other military equipment will take part in the exercises. Members of the Lithuanian Rifle Association, representatives of the State Border Guard Service, the Department of Mobilization and Civil Resistance, and the Directorate of the Klaipėda State Seaport will also take part in the exercises.

 

 The exercises will focus on mine countermeasures, maritime interception operations, combating asymmetric, air, surface and underwater threats, amphibious operations, and port security and defense.

 

 "The goal of the exercises is to provide the participating units with the opportunity to train in conditions of limited space and shallow water, to achieve the goals of the exercises and to prevent incidents," the message reads.

 

 It will be recalled that on Saturday in Tallinn, Estonia, the largest exercises of this year in the Baltic Sea, Baltops 23, in which 50 NATO warships are participating, began.
