Poland asked Britain to help with defense against missiles and drones - Bloomberg

The Polish government has asked Britain to provide support and technology to counter Russian missiles, drones and spy balloons.

Interlocutors familiar with this issue told Bloomberg about this.

The corresponding request came after a number of incidents in Polish airspace in recent months.

According to the interlocutor, Great Britain is currently considering its response to Poland's request.

The British government refused to comment, saying only that the Sky Saber air defense system is already deployed in Poland. Earlier, Great Britain signed an agreement to provide Poland with ground-based air defense equipment worth $2.4 billion.

We will remind you that a scandal is unfolding in Poland surrounding the situation with a missile, probably a Russian one, which clearly entered the country's territory back in December, but the public learned about it only in May.

The Polish Minister of Defense stated that the military then tracked the missile and reacted appropriately, but he was not personally informed of the incident. In this regard, the opposition called for his resignation.

In addition, in May, the appearance of an object in the airspace was recorded in Poland - probably an observation balloon that flew in from Belarus. His search lasted more than three weeks.

On November 15, 2022, a rocket fell in the settlement of Pshevoduv on the border with Ukraine, as a result of which two people died.
