Shoigu threatens to use cluster munitions in Ukraine

During the Moscow Security Conference, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that Russia has not used cluster munitions in Ukraine so far.  But he warned that such a position "may be reconsidered," RosZMI report.

Shoigu noted that the current "decision to avoid the use of such munitions is related to humanitarian considerations," but it could be revised in response to "violations of humanitarian norms by Kyiv."

In his speech, the defense minister also emphasized that according to preliminary data on the outcome of the hostilities, "Ukraine's military potential is almost exhausted."

It should be noted that Amnesty International recorded the use of cluster munitions by Russia as early as 2022.

As we reported earlier, Ukraine has submitted its first report on the use of US DPICM cluster munitions in the fight against Russia to the US Department of Defense.
