The first batch of American Abrams tanks arrived in Ukraine on Saturday, September 23, The New York Times reports.

The publication notes that the delivery of the first tanks took place several months earlier than expected, which will allow them to be used in the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The publication's sources said that the rest of the Abrams tanks will be delivered in the coming months. The first batch that arrived in Ukraine was part of the promised 31 tanks that President Joe Biden's administration promised to send.
