Putin and Lukashenko discussed joint aircraft construction and meeting in Kyrgyzstan

Alexander Lukashenko, the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, and Russian President Vladimir Putin plan to meet in mid-October in Kyrgyzstan to discuss joint production and maintenance of aircraft. This was reported by BelTA.

During a telephone conversation between Lukashenko and Putin the day before, these projects were discussed.

In particular, they discussed the possibility of joint production of small aircraft that could land on the ground.

Lukashenko said that Putin proposed to jointly build such aircraft together with the Belarusian side and to intensify the production of certain components for the IL-96, as well as their maintenance in Belarus, as Belarus has the necessary competencies for this.

A meeting between Putin and Lukashenko is scheduled for mid-October in Kyrgyzstan, where the CIS summit will take place.
