Poland does not understand Ukraine's "pause" in the WTO dispute, demands withdrawal of complaint

Polish Agriculture Minister Robert Telus said that he did not understand the words of Ukraine's trade representative Taras Kachka about a pause in the dispute between the countries within the World Trade Organization, PAP reports.

"We do not know what the suspension of the complaint means. We demand to withdraw the complaint because it is groundless and absurd. How can the Ukrainian government file a complaint against the Polish government if the Polish government is helping a Polish farmer? This is just absurd. And our appeal to the Ukrainian side is as follows: if we want to improve the conditions for our relations, this complaint should simply be withdrawn, not talk about any suspension," Telus said.

According to him, Poland has not yet received any confirmation from the WTO that the case has been suspended.

On October 5, Kachka told reporters in Brussels that Ukraine's complaint to the WTO was on hold for now, citing the 60-day pre-dispute consultation period provided for by the organization's rules.
