The Pentagon is looking for ways to continue military aid to Ukraine

Deputy head of the Pentagon Kathleen Hicks said that problems with the US budget adoption jeopardize military assistance to Ukraine, but the department has options to continue funding. She said this in an interview with Bloomberg

According to her, the threat of a US government shutdown and other political turmoil in Washington jeopardize the US ability to support Ukraine.

"With uncertainty at every turn, we know that Russia and China are not slowing down to allow us to get our house in order. We need to act quickly and confidently to confront the threats and security needs we face," Hicks said.

She noted that the United States has options to continue military aid to Ukraine even if the Congress does not approve the White House's budget proposal.

"The Pentagon is not yet considering reprogramming money allocated to other areas to make up for the deficit," the official said.
