Chinese leader Xi Jinping has emphasized that China is ready to cooperate with the United States and believes that both sides can overcome their differences and jointly address global challenges. This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.


"Xi said that China and the United States can find the right path to understanding with each other, which is crucial for the peaceful development of the world and the future of humanity. China is ready to promote mutually beneficial cooperation with the United States on the basis of the three principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation, correctly manage differences, make joint efforts to solve global problems, achieve mutual achievements and common prosperity for the benefit of the two countries and the whole world," the statement said.


These statements were made by Xi Jinping at the annual reception of the National Committee on US-China Relations, which took place at the organization's headquarters in New York.


The Chinese leader's call for a more stable bilateral relationship based on "mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation" was reportedly made ahead of Foreign Minister Wang Yi's expected meeting in Washington from Thursday to Saturday. This will be a face-to-face, high-level meeting ahead of US President Joe Biden's upcoming meeting with Xi Jinping in San Francisco for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in November.
