Russian troops intensify activity near Bakhmut - Syrskyi

The Russian military has significantly reinforced its grouping and moved to active operations in the area of Bakhmut. This was stated by the commander of the Ground Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

According to him, the situation in the east remains difficult. Thus, the Russians do not give up trying to achieve success and attack our positions every day.

"They are particularly active in the area of Kupyansk, where they are trying to advance in several directions. In the area of Bakhmut, the enemy has significantly strengthened its grouping and moved from defense to active actions," said the colonel general.

He said that the Russians are trying to stop the advance of Ukrainian soldiers there and restore the lost position using amphibious units. They are also using assault groups from "Storm Z" units in certain areas.

Syrskyi noted that the actions of Russian troops are supported by artillery and mortar fire. The use of kamikaze drones is also constantly increasing.

"At the same time, thanks to the professional and coordinated actions of our soldiers, the enemy suffers heavy losses and cannot achieve its goals," the commander emphasized.
