SBU opens criminal case against Iryna Farion

The Security Service of Ukraine has opened criminal proceedings against former People's Deputy Iryna Farion.

A number of examinations have been ordered regarding her statements. In particular, regarding insults to Russian-speaking soldiers of the Armed Forces.

She is also being investigated for publishing information about a pro-Ukrainian student in Crimea.

"In her social networks, the defendant published a post with a screenshot of a message from a pro-Ukrainian student from the temporarily occupied Crimea, which contained the name, surname and other personal data of the sender. This became the basis for his persecution by the Russian special services," the statement said.

She is suspected under four articles: Article 161 (discrimination against citizens), Article 435-1 (insult to the honor and dignity of a serviceman), Article 163 (violation of the secrecy of correspondence), Article 182 (violation of privacy).
