The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed the operation on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson region. This was reported in the press service of the department.
The military said that the Defense Forces have conducted a series of successful attacks on the left bank, with sabotage and reconnaissance raids underway. The Ukrainian Armed Forces discover the ways of supplying ammunition and food to the Russians, the location of infantry and equipment, as well as artillery positions for further destruction.
The General Staff notes that heavy fighting is taking place on the left bank.
"One of the main goals is to push the enemy as far away from the right bank as possible to protect civilians from constant Russian shelling. The further the Russian artillery is from Kherson, the better," the statement said.
It is reported that the Russian Federation has "a fairly serious line of fortifications" on the left bank, and it is putting up "strong resistance." However, the Armed Forces managed to carry out "several successful actions".
"The enemy is trying to knock our soldiers out of their positions, which is why they suffer heavy losses. In particular, the invaders make 4 to 10 such attempts almost every day. As a result, the enemy is forced to redeploy units from other areas due to significant losses," the General Staff reports.
