British Foreign Secretary expands diplomatic efforts: meeting with leaders of Ukraine and Moldova

The newly appointed head of the British Foreign Office, David Cameron, visited Moldova after his visit to Ukraine and met with President Maia Sandu. Sandu reported this on the social network X.

"I was glad to meet with David Cameron in Chisinau. I expressed my gratitude to the UK for its support of Ukraine, which is key to Moldova's security, stability and prosperity in Europe. We discussed security in the Black Sea, bilateral cooperation and a common position in the fight against corruption," Sandu wrote.

Cameron also met in Chisinau with his Moldovan colleague, Nicu Popescu. They discussed the signing of agreements on mutual recognition of driver's licenses and the reduction of roaming tariffs.

"We also emphasized the importance of intensifying cooperation in the fight against corruption and bringing to justice those who harm the state and our citizens. Strengthening relations with the United Kingdom is a key element in enhancing the resilience and security of our country," Popescu said.
