Maia Sandu, Charles Michel and German Defense Minister arrived in Kyiv today

On Tuesday, November 21, Moldovan President Maia Sandu and European Council President Charles Michel arrived in Kyiv for a visit. The visits were not announced in advance.


"We arrived in Kyiv to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the European Council Charles Michel. On our agenda: discussing the next steps for Moldova and Ukraine's accession to the EU, strengthening regional security and further EU support for reforms and development in our countries," Sandu wrote on Twitter.


In particular, she took part in the commemoration of activists who died during the Revolution of Dignity.


"On the Day of Dignity and Freedom, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska honored the memory of activists who died during the Revolution of Dignity. The event was also attended by President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu," the president's website says.


In addition to President of Moldova Maia Sandu, the head of the European Council Charles Michel also came.


"Nice to be back in Kyiv - among friends," he wrote on Twitter.

 

 

Earlier, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit, AFP reports.


He is scheduled to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov and President Volodymyr Zelensky. This is Pistorius' second visit to Kyiv since he became defense minister earlier this year.
