Another tranche of macro-financial aid: Ukraine received €1.5 billion from the EU

Ukraine has received another tranche of macro-financial aid of EUR 1.5 billion from the EU. This was announced by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.  


"The EU has been financially supporting economic stability and public services in Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian war. Today we disburse another €1.5 billion. Our support to Ukraine has now reached €85 billion. There will be more. We have offered €50 billion for Ukraine until 2027," von der Leyen wrote on social media.

 

 

As a reminder, that this is the 16th tranche of macro-financial aid since the beginning of the full-scale war. Since March 2023, they have been disbursed monthly in the same amount of €1.5 billion. Ukraine is to receive another tranche by the end of the year.


Money is provided on preferential terms. The loan has a maturity of 35 years. The EU countries will pay interest and other debt service payments instead of Ukraine.
