Russian troops have succeeded in the Avdiivka direction. Russians are attempting to surround the city. This was reported by the British Ministry of Defense in X.

Since October 2023, the Russian military has advanced the front line in the area by 2 kilometers.

According to British intelligence, although this is a small advance, it probably represents one of Russia's most significant achievements since the spring of 2023. However, this progress has come at the cost of a large number of casualties among the participating Russian Armed Forces units.

This operation is gradually bringing Russian troops closer to the Avdiivka Coke Plant, where Ukrainian troops maintain one of their main defensive positions, the report said.

"Although Avdiivka has become an outcropping on the Ukrainian front line, Ukraine continues to control a corridor of about 7 km through which it continues to supply the city," the British Ministry of Defense emphasizes.
