A wiretap was found in Zaluzhnyi's office: SBU confirms

On Sunday, December 17, a wiretap was found in the office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a source in military circles. Later, the Security Service of Ukraine confirmed the information about the wiretap.

According to the source, the devices are made of unidentified elements, which makes it impossible to identify their installers.

"These devices were discovered today during the preparation of the premises for work," the source added.

For its part, the SBU reported that it had opened a criminal investigation into the discovery of wiretapping in one of the potential locations of the Armed Forces chief Valeriy Zaluzhnyi.

According to the special service, the wiretap was found not in the office of the chief of the army, but in one of the premises that could be used for work in the future. The SBU also added that the found device was in a non-working condition and will be submitted for examination.

Meanwhile, former Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar commented on the situation with the found wiretapping.

"I don't know what and who in the Commander-in-Chief wanted to hear, because in principle, everyone is aware that there is a possibility of wiretapping and information leakage. That is why this is always taken into account when communicating by voice. But the fact that we have "leaks" of secret information, for example, from the headquarters, is true. Military secrets have become public more than once," Malyar wrote on her telegram channel.

It is worth noting that according to other Ukrainian media, wiretapping was found not only in the head of the Armed Forces headquarters, but also among its employees.
