Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Syrskyi describes the difficult situation on the eastern front

Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi announced the "difficult situation" on the eastern front. The Russian army is attacking at the Kupyansk, Lyman and Bakhmut directions, having an advantage in weapons and personnel.

Near Bakhmut, Russia's goal is to launch an offensive on Chasiv Yar to eventually reach the borders of Donetsk region.

In the Kharkiv region, Russians continue their assault near Sinkivka to create a foothold for a further offensive on Kupyansk.

"Our troops are holding the defense and destroying the enemy in all three directions. The enemy is suffering heavy losses, which are being replenished by the reserves of assault battalions formed from former prisoners," said Syrskyi.
