Mobile air defense groups in the north shot down almost half of Russian UAVs and some missiles - Nayev

Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported in Telegram that during the January 2 air attack, almost half of the Russian drones and a fifth of the cruise missiles in the Northern Operational Zone were destroyed by mobile air defense groups.

"8 out of 17 (47%) neutralized attack UAVs and 11 out of 48 (19%) downed cruise missiles in the Northern Operational Zone were achieved by mobile air defense fire groups on January 2," Nayev wrote.

He noted that the mobile groups are armed with short-range air defense systems, anti-aircraft artillery systems, portable air defense systems and large-caliber machine guns.

The general thanked the personnel of the mobile groups and said that thanks to them, Ukraine was able to "strengthen the air shield" and save thousands of lives of its citizens.
