The Navy explains why Russians did not use the fleet during recent missile strikes

The actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces to counter the Russian Black Sea Fleet have significantly reduced the logistical capabilities of the aggressor country's fleet to supply missile weapons. No surface or underwater missile launchers were used in the massive attacks on December 29 and January 2. This was stated by Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, on the air of the national telethon "Yedyni novyny".

According to him, as of the morning of January 3, no enemy missile carriers were detected in the Black Sea, even if the weather conditions were favorable for the ships to leave. Pletenchuk clarified that on January 3 in the morning there were two ships in the Black Sea and one in the Sea of Azov, but they were not missile carriers.

The Navy spokesman explained that the reason for keeping these units from participating in the shelling was mainly due to logistical problems. He noted that the naval base with missile weapons for the Russian occupiers' fleet is located in Sevastopol.

"And even if they are moved to Novorossiysk, as of now there is no confirmed information that they have moved there the equipment capable of loading these cruise missiles onto carriers," said Pletenchuk.

The spokesman explained that this could be the main reason, which was "the result of counteraction by the Defense and Security Forces to the Russian Black Sea Fleet" in the Black Sea.
