President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa in Kyiv. This was reported on the President's website.


The President noted that the Japanese Foreign Minister is making her first international visit in the new year to Ukraine, which is a very important signal of support for the Ukrainian people.


Zelensky also expressed sincere condolences on behalf of himself and all Ukrainians over the tragic consequences of the recent devastating earthquake in Japan.


"The people of Japan can count on the support of the Ukrainian state and society," he said.


The President also expressed hope for active cooperation and emphasized the importance of concluding a security agreement, while Yoko Kamikawa expressed Japan's readiness to take the lead in implementing the first point of the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Formula.


In his evening address, Zelensky noted the positive relations with Japan and discussed further steps in restoring Ukraine, working on the Peace Formula, and strengthening sanctions against Russia.
