US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said at a briefing that Russia has failed to gain an advantage in the war with Ukraine, despite some successes on the battlefield.

In response to a journalist's question about whether Russia has recently gained an advantage, the speaker answered in the negative.

"No, we don't think so at all. If you study the dynamics of the conflict over the recent past, not two years, you will find that yes, Russia has had some success on the battlefield. We saw its successes over the weekend because Ukraine was not able to provide weapons to its troops," Miller said.

The speaker emphasized that the main reason for the shortage of ammunition in the Ukrainian military is the slow consideration by the US Congress of the issue of providing a large aid package to Ukraine.

Miller urged congressmen to vote for the allocation of funds to Ukraine as soon as possible.
