On Tuesday morning, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported the destruction of the Russian Black Sea Fleet patrol ship "Sergey Kotov".
"On the night of March 4-5, 2024, a special unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine "Group 13" attacked the patrol ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet "Sergey Kotov". The mission was conducted in cooperation with the Ukrainian Navy and with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. As a result of the strike by Magura V5 maritime drones, the Russian ship of Project 22160 "Sergey Kotov" sustained damage to the stern, right and left sides," the statement said.
It is alleged that the "Kotov" was hit in the territorial waters of Ukraine, near the Kerch Strait, and the cost of the sunken ship is about $65 million.
The GUR also showed a video of the Magura V5 drone attack on the Russian patrol ship "Sergey Kotov". At least three drones hit the ship.
